What does Enable/Disable actually do?

It's a starter interrupt. An installer wires it into the starter circuit, and from then on you can disable the machine from your dashboard. Once it's disabled, turning the key does nothing. It stays that way until you re-enable it, so nobody on site can undo it by finding the right person to ask.

Does it shut down a vehicle that's already running?

No, and that's deliberate. Enable/Disable blocks the next start. It doesn't cut power to a machine that's moving or mid-lift, because doing that to a loaded excavator or a truck in traffic would create a far worse problem than the one you're solving.

What hardware does it need?

It's the IQ-Wired 68, the hardwired tracker in the AirIQ line that carries remote starter disable. It needs a professional install because the interrupt has to be wired into the starter circuit properly. See IQ-Wired 68 for the full spec.

What if the machine is out of cellular coverage?

The command travels over the cellular network, so an asset sitting in a dead zone gets it when it reconnects. For equipment that lives in genuinely remote places, that's worth planning around: geofence and ignition alerts tell you something's happening, and the disable lands as soon as the device is back in coverage.

How does this work for rental operations?
